Hello dear readers,

It’s been a good summer for my family and I. I’ve been able to ride my horse a lot (that's him in the picture above.)

Baelfire is the inspiration for the unicorn character, Solstice, in the Twin Kingdoms Trilogy. This is exactly how I envision him in the story, and this is a very real picture of Baelfire. I used Canva to put the horn on him and create a fantastical background :) He's as handsome as a unicorn too!!!!

On June 13th I celebrated the one year anniversary of the release of Curse of the Gifted as well as my birthday! I also went on two float trips with my family during the month of June so overall it was a very fun month.

Unfortunately, that left little time for writing. I only got one chapter written the whole month of June 😫. But it's a good chapter so that counts for something, right?

When I say good, I mean, something BIG happened, but it’s actually kind of sad so maybe it’s not good. Let’s just say that book 3 finds the end of several of our beloved characters. There might be some heartbreak coming to the Twin Kingdoms in the third installment. Weird concept since the name of the book is “Unbroken Hearts.” 🤨 hmmmm. What's that about?

I apologize about the heartbreak in advance. but here’s a little snippet from book 2, The Lost Ones, to tease/torture you in the meantime:

I had high hopes that I would be able to get some writing done in July, but that didn't happen but it was packed full of fun and adventure.

My daughter entered some of her artwork into a 4H fair and got many first places and a reserve champion. She also showed 2 of her chickens and got 3rd overall out of about 50 so that’s pretty awesome! We had a lot of fun at the 4H show and county fair. I spent most of the month working, riding my horse, and going to water parks with my family because it is HOT outside. We were under heat advisories for most of the month.

All of that left little time for writing BUT I did do a giveaway on my Instagram, and I selected two winners who received FREE signed copies of both books 1&2 of the Twin Kingdoms Trilogy. One went all the way to The Netherlands :)

And, the biggest news of all...drum roll....The Lost Ones: Book 2 in the Twin Kingdoms Trilogy is officially available for pre-order!

On September 30th both books will also be enrolled into Kindle Unlimited for those of you who prefer that format. We’re getting so close to launch. I just can’t wait! 

August was also a fun month. We went on one last family vacation and a Dirty Heads concert. Dirty Heads is my favorite band and they're amazing live. If you love hip/hop, rap, reggae then I would give them a listen.

My daughter is officially back in school and she's in Junior High. I am still in disbelief about that. I have a teenager now! That feels crazy to me.

Hopefully, now, I can get back some of my writing time. Not that I don’t love spending time with my family, of course, but I'm anxious to get back into a routine.

Other than that, not much else is going on for me right now. I’m currently listening to the 3rd book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and I am absolutely LOVING it. I highly recommend those books if you love adventure, action and comedy laced with a bit of games and gore.  

My current watch is Poldark on Netflix which I also really like, but I love all of those historical fiction type of stories: Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, etc. Two excellent book series that are in that genera are The Gemma Doyle Series by Libba Brown and the Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman. Both historic fiction set in British aristocracy but with fantasy mixed in.
